1. Purpose of measuring noise levels on ships:
- Establish a uniform method to measure and record the sound pressure level of machinery installed in the machinery space and to limit noise levels and reduce crew noise exposure Aim:

- Provide safe working conditions by considering the need for voice communication and audible alarms as well as an environment where informed decisions can be made in control stations, lead spaces road and radio as well as manned mechanical space.

- Protect seafarers from excessive noise levels that could cause noise-induced hearing loss; and provide seafarers with an acceptable level of comfort in rest, recreation and other spaces, and provide conditions for recuperation after exposure to high levels of noise.

2.Applicable standards:
The noise level measurement process is built to meet Vietnamese standards QCVN 80:2014/BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport and IMO MSC.337(91)
For measuring equipment that meets the requirements of IEC 61672-1; The software and calculation methods used in the device satisfy the requirements according to IEC 61260:1995
