A radio buoy with an EPIRB is a necessary device for search and rescue, and can transmit rescue signals at 406MHz and navigation signals at 121.5MHz. EPRIB CETME VEP8 is an IMO/IEC and COSPAS-SARSAT certified product.
- VEP8 can be activated automatically or manually when the ship is in distress. Then, the 406MHz emergency signal will be transmitted and relayed to the search and rescue center by satellite. The search and rescue center will carry out an emergency response plan according to the signal received.
